Here’s a look at the latest updates and enhancements that recently went live in our Email Marketing product.
Improved My Emails page
We heard you loud and clear that you wanted folders to help stay organized and on top of all of your emails, so we’ve improved the My Emails page to give you just that. While we were at it, we added more functionality to the page to help you work faster and more efficiently. Here’s what you can do with the improved My Emails Page:
- Create folders. You can now drag and drop emails into custom folders that you create.
- Switch views. You can switch between the traditional list view and a new thumbnail view of your emails.
- Access your reports. See your open rates for emails you’ve sent right from the My Emails page, and get one click access to full report for that email.

More new email templates
Earlier in the month, we released another batch of brand new templates that you can customize to match your brand, no matter what industry you are in. You can find them all by selecting “Show More” from the “Type” menu of the left-side of the Template Picker and then clicking “New.”

Not only do these templates look great, but it’s incredibly easy to customize them to match your brand or industry. Just drop in your logo, change the colors, and add in your images and content.
We’ve also designed these templates to look great on mobile. Now your customers get a great-looking email, even if they are reading it on-the-go from their smartphone.
If you’re in need of some inspiration for an email you’re working on, or just want to see some of the great things our customers are doing with our new templates, check out this album we’ve created on our Facebook Page – and keep an eye out for more new templates soon!
Many of our improvements are based on your feedback and we want you to keep it coming! Have a suggestion or idea how we can improve our products? Submit it here!
This feature is totally terrific! There is one issue the unfiled feature is not working. I am attempting to put all of my emails in folders, but when I select the unfiled option it lists everything. If the unfiled feature worked my life would be 100% easier. Thank you
Thanks for the feedback Marcia. The unfiled feature should be working now (the folder should go to 0 if you have all of your emails in folders).
Thank you so much! The new feature works perfectly and will make my electronic marketing life much simpler.
Hi Dave, That’s great news about the folders for organizing hundreds of emails. I have a question about the folders. Once I move an email from my ‘all’ selection into a folder, it seems to keep a copy of that in email in all whereby what I’m really doing is creating a copy for my folder. Is there a way to move the original without having the duplicate copy?
Jeanne – thanks for reading. The “All” folder will keep all of your emails – to give you a quick view of everything. You will see your email in both the “All” folder and the folder you created.
I was disappointed there were no newsletter templates with Merry Christmas. I resented the restriction forcing political correctness.
Hi Yvonne. Sorry to hear that. The good news is that all of our templates can be easily customized for your needs. Additionally, if you look under the “featured” section of the template picker (on the first page) there is a Christmas email template that you can use.
Hi Yvonne,
There is at least one pre-made template with Merry Christmas. If you want to shoot us an email, we can help you locate it

When will these options be live? My account hasn’t converted to show these features.
Molly – these are live in your account now. You will see the new “My Emails” page.
So…LOVED the new folder feature! Had it earlier today…and now it’s gone…
So, when will the folders option be back?
Hi Carol – there was a minor bug that our developers had to fix very quickly, and in order to do so, we have to remove the page. It’s back up and working now and better than ever!
I went into CC this morning; saw the change in My Emails, added folders and moved emails into them. Then I got this email. Went back to CC and it was the old version. What’s going on?
Mary – we had a minor bug that we needed to fix after the page went live. In order to fix it for all of our customers, we had to take it down for a very short period of time, but it’s now back up and ready for you to use!
great changes, keep up the good work
Thanks Ron!
How do you create a folder?
Hey Pablo – to create a folder, just click “Create Folder” at the left of your list of emails. Then you’ll be able to add text to name the folder. Here’s an FAQ with more info to help as well: http://support2.constantcontact.com/articles/FAQ/4746#create
I can’t see how I can create a folder, it would be very useful to get emails organised. Pascale
Hi Pascale- On the left side of the page, you’ll see blue text that says “Create Folder.” Just click on that and you will be able to add a name to the folder you want to create. Here’s a link to the FAQ: http://support2.constantcontact.com/articles/FAQ/4746#create.
I was so excited about this feature that I went in right away and created about 7 new folders and sorted all my emails. This morning when I went back into my account– all the folders were GONE! What happened???
I’m super excited about the Folders feature!
We have 3 very distinct mailing lists (though most people are part of more than one of them) and this will take email organization to a whole new level.
THANK YOU!!!
Sweet! Glad to hear that Dan. Thanks for the feedback.
The FOLDERS section is not displaying on my interface. How do I activate/access Folders?
Hi Betty – folders should be showing up now. Just click on the Email tab in your Constant Contact account.
i am really glad the ConstantContact did not remove the Christmas templates. I use them every year! Thank you for ALWAYS being on the leading edge!
Yesterday I created a folder for my email and today it is gone and the folder option is gone from My Email page. Can you tell me what might have happened?
Carol – sorry for the delay here. We had a minor bug that we needed to fix in order to make this work for all of our customers. In order to fix it, we had to turn if off for a moment, but i’s back up now and ready for you to use.
I don’t see a “Create Folder” link in my Emails view.
Check out the left side of the page – there should now be blue highlighted text that you can click to create a folder.
You tell me I can “Create folders. You can now drag and drop emails into custom folders that you create.”, but how do I do it. I can’t find any instructions for creating custom folders. Hopefully there will be a link on the website soon that will allow your customers to understand how to utilize this new ability.
Jesse – thanks for the feedback. I hope that this will help. Here’s a link to the FAQ in the help center that gives a nice easy run down on how to create folders: http://support2.constantcontact.com/articles/FAQ/4746#create. After you create a folder, just click on the email that you want to add to the folder, and you can drag and drop it right in.
Thanks!

I agree with the comment about the politically correct templates. This is a shame and I expect more from ConstantContact. I expect ConstantContact to be on the leading edge not on the lemming edge!
Marcia – just to clarify, there is a Christmas template that you can use. We’ve actually featured it on the front page of the template picker (with a little blue banner). Check it out!
Thank you for the follow-up! I saw the template and sent you a followup email. Keep up the terrific work!
This is nice, and I hope you will consider making it a priority to improve the ability to transfer contacts into CC directly from Google Contacts. Currently I cannot isolate the different groups I have in Google Contacts and import them seamlessly into CC. It is an all or nothing proposition…thanks.
Christian- check out this integration we have with Google Contacts – might be able to help out: http://marketplace.constantcontact.com/Listing/applications/cazoomi/PML-15545
This is a great feature! It was easy to use and very helpful. However as I created subcategories to folders I found that the original folder count remained at zero. It would be nice as folders are added within other folders for the original to keep a count of how many emails are in the folder. Thanks for the new feature!
Hey Alexus – thanks for the feedback. When you make subfolders and then put emails into them, the overall number will change (so, if you have 6 emails in a folder, create a subfolder and then put one email in there, the original folder will now read 5). I’ve passed your feedback on to our development team. Thanks!
