As the season fast approaches, did you know that if you haven’t started planning yet…you’re already behind?
Don’t worry. I’m going to give you a quick and easy way to set up a holiday Facebook promotion that will get you new fans, email subscribers, and of course more business.
Now don’t over-think this holiday offer stuff.
Just take a look at the offers you made last year, choose one that really seemed to work, and create a holiday theme around it. Viola! You have yourself a holiday-themed Facebook promotion!
Note: What you’ll be offering depends on the nature of your business. Your offer may be a coupon, a sweepstakes, or a piece of downloadable content like a guide or whitepaper.
Here’s an example of what’s worked for my clients.
For my clients (internal Constant Contact teams offering products or services to other businesses), running a Facebook promotion with a piece of downloadable content has been incredibly successful. In fact, we ran a total of four Facebook promotions this year and we’ve seen 563 new Facebook fans and 65 new email subscribers.
These Facebook promotions have helped us reach our specific goals.
For our Facebook promotions, the goal was to add more Facebook fans and email contacts by showcasing the expertise of my clients. This ultimately allowed us to generate leads and stay top of mind with existing customers.

You’ve probably heard the famous quote from Field of Dreams, “If you build it, he [or for these purposes, they] will come.” This quote may be true for the movie, but not when it comes to marketing campaigns! Just because you’ve created a goal and figured out what you’ll be offering your customers, does not mean they will find your Facebook promotion.

Sharing your promotion is the key element to the success of your campaign. And if you have a great offer, your fans, followers, and customers will want to share it too, helping you spread the word about your promotion.
