As we all continue to process Monday’s tragic events here in Boston, it seems like we could all use just a little bit of good news. To that end, we thought we would share some exciting things happening for a handful of our nonprofit customers.

Here at Constant Contact, we are committed to bringing more than just world-class products and services to our nonprofit and small business customers. That’s why we’re stepping up our efforts to engage with local communities through philanthropy, employee volunteerism, and socially responsible programming.

Last week, to celebrate our incredible customers and the communities that they serve, we held an online contest where three lucky nonprofits competed for the chance to win a $10,000 donation from Constant Contact. The entire prize pool for this contest was raised through our annual, employee-run Cares for Community Charity Auction.

After a busy week of online activity, we’ve tallied the votes and are pleased to announce our winner: Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports (STARS)!

Based out of Steamboat, Colorado, STARS provides children and adults with cognitive or physical disabilities the opportunity to experience recreational sports with the help of caring, experienced volunteers and instructors. Last winter, STARS served over 340 individual clients with over 1,400 skier days. In the last few years, the organization has expanded beyond the winter and began offering year-round programs and camps in biking, kayaking, fishing, and water skiing.

Of course, our two runners-up won’t walk away empty handed. We are thrilled to also provide $3,000 grants to both Literacy Action of Central Arkansas and the Autism Society of Southeastern Wisconsin.
