What’s in this episode?

11 minutes of marketing awesomeness.

This week’s topic:

Imagine searching for a plumber online and you come across the websites of two potential candidates. All things, including price, are pretty much equal. But one of the plumbers has a content rich website that provides numerous tips and articles that demonstrate his expertise. There’s also a section that answers frequently asked questions. Every page of the website contains a bit of personality and gives you a sense of what it’s going to be like to work with him. There’s even an About page that details the plumber’s history and experience along with a friendly picture of the plumber himself. In the absence of any other information, which plumber do you think you’d most likely want to call? It’s easy to see the plumber that’s added value in the form of content to his site is the frontrunner.

This week, Heather Jackson, Constant Contact’s director, regional development, New England, joins us to discuss how businesses of all sizes can sell more by adding value. (P.S. In the New England area interested in joining Heather’s team of experts? Contact her directly at hjackson(at)constant contact(dot)com.)

Listen in as we discuss:

  • How Constant Contact began offering marketing best practices seminars in local communities to add value for current customers and reach new prospects.
  • How businesses can add value to do more business.
  • Why you shouldn’t be afraid to “give away the farm.”
  • Just because it’s obvious to you, it’s not the same for your customer.
