In America, it’s the Fourth of July tomorrow.

As people head out to celebrate, your small business may see a nice increase in foot traffic. That’s great news! But don’t let it end there.

You’ll have a perfect opportunity to provide your customers with a great experience and then entice them to sign up for your email list. This way, you can keep in touch and turn them into repeat customers.

Here are some ways to make it easy for people to join your list!

Give them a reason why

We know why people want to subscribe to your list. It’s the desire for promotions and discounts, exclusive content, and continued support of your organization. So be sure to include a good reason why people would want to subscribe when you ask customers at the register and on any signage.

Now they’re ready to join. Here’s how they can do it!

Since people will most likely be on the go, you’ll want to make it easy for them to join your list.

1. Start with the sign-up sheet.

Tip: People are more likely to sign up for a newsletter if they’re going to get something in exchange. Let them know right up front that if they sign up they’ll receive a discount on their next purchase, or a free gift of some sort. Whatever it is that you have, make sure you’re offering something in exchange for their information.

2. Use your tablet.
